Christian Bale's villainous Gorr the God Butcher made his first appearance in the newly released Thor: Love and Thunder trailer on Monday.
The trailer, released during Monday night's NBA playoff game between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics, starts out with Thor's rock friend Korg, played by Taika Waititi, as he tells a group of children Thor's story.
The opening shots show Thor (Chris Hemsworth) training, losing the weight he gained during the events of Avengers: Endgame before, in the middle of a major fight, Thor reaches our for his trusty hammer Mjölnir only for it to fly to the hand of another.

That person is his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and the next several shots of the trailer show Thor and Jane talking and starting to flirt with one another.

The highly anticipated first look at Gorr the God Butcher comes next with Bale's character saying, 'The only ones who gods care about is themselves' as he emerges from a shadowy thicket with a white hood pulled over his supernaturally pale skin.
