American Horror Story star Emma Roberts steps back into the horror genre once again with her latest film.
And on Friday Vertical Entertainment dropped the first official trailer for Abandoned that also stars John Gallagher Jr., Michael Shannon and Paul Schneider.
In the film, Roberts and Gallagher Jr. play Sara and Alex, a married couple with an infant son who move into a remote farmhouse with a dark and tragic history.
As more is revealed about the house, Sara's fragility escalates to a state of psychosis that jeopardizes her own safety, as well as that of her newborn son.

Off the top of the trailer, the couple appear to be on the verge of buying their dream home while out house-hunting.
Curious about why the property had been on the market 'for a while', Sara inquires about its long-time availability.
It's at this point that the couple learn of the home's checkered past which includes being the scene of a suicide and double homicide.
In an unexpected response, Sarah reassures the real estate agent of their interest in the property and says: 'You know, I don't mind a little haunting.'
As the story unfolds, those words may very well come back to haunt them.
