Matthew Morrison's wife Renee Puente took to Instagram Thursday in support of her husband after he was fired as a judge on the Fox TV show So You Think You Can Dance amid allegations he had an inappropriate relationship with a female contestant.

The Hawaii-born actress and model, 37, reposted a video statement Morrison made in his defense in which he recited a seemingly innocuous text message he sent a contestant that led to his ouster from the show, vowing he had 'nothing to hide.'

Puente said of Morrison's clip: 'My husband has finally been given an opportunity to speak his truth' and 'has done so with such grace and integrity in a situation that is complex and incredibly complicated.'

Morrison earlier on Thursday defended himself in an Instagram clip after he was fired last week as a judge on the Fox TV show So You Think You Can Dance, amid allegations he had an inappropriate relationship with a female contestant.

In a clip, the 43-year-old entertainer, saying he had 'nothing to hide,' and recited the text message he sent to the contestant.    

'It’s really unfortunate that I really have to defend myself and my family against blatantly untrue statements made anonymously, but I have nothing to hide,' Morrison said. 'In the interest of transparency, I will read to you the one message that I wrote to a dancer on the show: "Hey it’s Matthew, if you don’t mind, would love to get your number and talk [about] some things." The end.'

Morrison said he sent the text message in an effort to try and help get a mutual colleague hired by the Fox show.

'I sent this because this dancer and I share mutual respect for a choreographer that I’ve known for over 20 years and I was trying to help her get a job as a choreographer on the show,' he said. 

Morrison condemned a 'world where gossip rules,' saying it is destroying our society and we need to do better.

'And no way I want this to take away from the show because dance has always been a unifying and healing modality and I genuinely wish all the contestants and my fellow judges all the best,' he said. 

The contestant spoke with producers about the 43-year-old entertainer after he 'reached out to her through flirty direct messages on social media,' a source told People Tuesday, noting that 'they didn't have sex' and 'never met up off-set.'

The source told the outlet the contestant 'felt uncomfortable with his line of comments and went to producers, who then got Fox involved.'

Morrison 'was fired after they did their own investigation,' the source said, adding that 'it was just messages that crossed the line.' 

Morrison and his wife of seven years, Renee Puente, 37, are parents to two children, son Revel James Makai, four, and 11-month-old daughter Phoenix Monroe.
