Shakira revealed she suffered a scary moment when her father was taken to the hospital last week.
The pop star, 45, shared a post to Twitter on Saturday telling fans that her dad, whose name is William Mebarak Chadid, had to go to the hospital following a 'bad fall.'
'Guys, I'm getting a lot of messages of concern that I was seen in an ambulance in Barcelona recently,' the singer–songwriter tweeted.

'I just wanted to let you know that those photos are from last weekend (the 28th), when my dad unfortunately had a bad fall and I accompanied him in an ambulance to the hospital where he is recovering now,' she explained.
She continued, 'Please do send all your best wishes his way and thank you all as always for all of your love & support.'
Although it sounded as if he was on the upswing, her dad's fall is just the latest in a string of tough developments in Shakira.
She and her longtime partner Gerard Piqué announced in a joint statement that they are splitting up.

The couple were together for more than a decade and share two children together as well.
The announcement comes amid rumors in the Spanish tabloids that the couple were on the verge of breaking up with sources claiming he had cheated on the star.
Shakira's statement read: 'We regret to confirm that we are parting ways. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding.'

According to sources, Piqué has since been living a 'party lifestyle' in a bachelor pad and enjoying nights out with his teammates.
Neither party has addressed cheating claims but journalist Emilio Pérez reported: '(Shakira) has made the decision to separate. That is so. It has happened.
'That is why there is distance. Perhaps there is nothing left, but that (infidelity) has passed.'
Representatives did not respond when contacted by MailOnline for comment.
