Zayn Malik shared an unexpected clip of himself singing One Direction's 2013 hit You & I to his Instagram on Saturday - sending his fans into a frenzy.
The star, 29, belted out the chorus words to the song in a black and white clip as he clutched a microphone - but kept his followers guessing by not captioning the video.
It comes after things turned sour between Zayn and his former bandmate Liam Payne, 28, who called him a 'd**k' in a recent interview and mocked his alleged altercation with his ex girlfriend's mother Yolanda.

In the new video Zayn showed off his vocal ability singing the words to the song and was wearing an edgy grey T-shirt while his hair was slicked back with a band.
Fans went into meltdown over the clip, with one writing: 'ONE DIRECTION REUNION OKAY' while another said: 'ARE WE OKAY??? IS EVERYONE BREATHING???'
A third wrote: 'This has saved my 2022' while another excitable fan commented saying: 'ZAYN YOU HAVE SUMMONED THE WHOLE FANDOM.'
Another simply wrote underneath the post: 'ZAYN SINGING 1D AGAIN HOW I'VE MISSED YOU.'

You and I was released in 2013 as part of their Midnight Memories album. Zayn formed the band with Liam, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson.
It comes after earlier this month Liam came under heavy fire after he gave an interview about his former One Direction bandmates where he called Zayn a 'd**k'.
The singer appeared on the Impaulsive podcast with controversial YouTuber Logan Paul on Wednesday, where he made a number of comments that did not go down well with fans.
He and the host discussed former bandmate Zayn's headline-making online feud with Logan's brother Jake Paul in 2020, which ended with Zayn's then-girlfriend Gigi Hadid slamming Jake as 'irrelevant' and defending her beau as 'a respectful king'.

Liam gave his thoughts on the drama, saying: 'She tweeted something about get yourself a respectful man or something. That one didn't age very well.'
The comment has been interpreted by fans as a reference to the allegation that Gigi's mother Yolanda Hadid made last year, that Zayn had shoved her into a dresser and called her a 'f***ing Dutch slut'.
