Danielle Harold put on a showstopping display as she walked the red carpet at the British Soap Awards 2022 at the Hackney Empire in London on Saturday.

The stunning blonde looked phenomenal in a sheer black catsuit that clung to her lithe figure and was embellished in sequins.

It comes following reports that the actress, 30, who plays 'tearaway' Lola Pearce in EastEnders, is devastated after being written out of the BBC soap in an unexpected 'cull' that will potentially see her character killed off.

Despite the unnerving news, the soap star appeared in high spirits as she looked positively radiant at the star-studded event.

Danielle wowed in the stunning ensemble as she added a black leather belt to nip her in at her svelte waist and a pair of black open toe heels to elevate her height.

The TV favourite styled her trademark tresses into loose waves and enhanced her beauty with some glam makeup.

Earlier this month it was reported that Danielle was 'in pieces' with a storyline around her departure allegedly in the works, in part because the nature of her exit means she will be unable to return.

An insider at the TV show told The Sun: 'She was not expecting the chop because her character has been a firm favourite with viewers. She'll be written out with no option to return.'

They added that the cast is 'rallying around' Danielle, who has 'handled the news like a true pro'.

Speaking to The Sun, the source also claimed the actress was told others face being axed off too, but 'no-one else has been given their marching orders yet'.

MailOnline has reached out to the BBC and Danielle's representatives for further comment.

The British Soap Award returned live to ITV for the first time in two years after the 2020 and 2021 ceremonies were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In its place in 2020, ITV instead aired a 60-minute special titled The British Soap Awards Celebrates 21 Years, narrated by long-running presenter Phillip Schofield.

This year, host Phillip Schofield, 60, welcomed a plethora of soap stars to London's Hackney Empire, where they'll battle it out to scoop prizes in 14 categories.

The awards are either voted for by a panel of expert judges or the public, with fans able to choose their favourites for Best British Soap, Best Leading Performer and Best Family categories.

Meanwhile, it was reported earlier this year that The British Soap Awards opted to axe the male and female categories.

Instead of Best Actor and Actress, stars from much-loved British soaps will battle it out for the newly-created new Best Leading Performer award.

The move follows The Brits which scrapped gender classifications this year, with Adele beating Ed Sheeran to Artist of the Year.

Past winners of the Best Actress award include Lucy Pargeter (who plays Chas Dingle in Emmerdale), Lucy Fallon (who plays Bethany Platt in Coronation Street) and Charlotte Bellamy (who plays Laurel Thomas in Emmerdale).
