She's passing on her iconic role of Wednesday Addams to Jenna Ortega in a new spin-off series dedicated to the morose character.
But Christina Ricci seemed excited about the passing of the torch when she spoke about her replacement to Variety at a For You Consideration event in Hollywood on Saturday.
The 42-year-old Yellowjackets star couldn't help but shower her collaborators with compliments, including Jenna, who she said was 'incredible.'

'It’s super fun. I loved working with Tim [Burton]. I worked with Gwendolyn Christie, it was amazing,' she gushed. 'And Jenna is incredible.'
Christina gave Jenna's new costume a thumbs up and complimented her take on the character as a teenager, after she played Wednesday as a young girl in the 1991 film and it's 1993 sequel.
'I saw some of the wardrobe photos before I went [to set] so I knew [what she looked like in character] and I was like, it’s such a great modern take on Wednesday,' she said. 'It’s so true tonally to the heart and soul of [the original], but it’s then it’s incredibly modern and it’s great.'
According to the log line for Wednesday, the show will follow the goth character as she 'attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.'
