Married At First Sight viewers were disappointed when fan-favourites Domenica Calarco and Jack Millar called it quits before filming the cast reunion in January.

But according to MAFS bride Carolina Santos, their seemingly blissful relationship may have ended much earlier.

The online business owner, 34, claimed during an Instagram Q&A on Wednesday that she suspects Domenica and Jack were one of 'many couples' from the show who split earlier in the season, but 'faked it' to extend their 15 minutes of fame.

She was asked by a fan: 'Did Jack/Dom split at the [couples'] retreat but fake it for fame 'til the end?' 

'Look, it's hard to say because you don't really know what happens behind closed doors, but I think they did [fake it to stay on the show],' Carolina replied.

'Most of the couples knew that their relationship was never going to go anywhere [in the outside world] and they stayed until the end for TV time.'
