He was a bookies' favourite to be the next Bachelor before Channel 10 threw fans a curveball by hiring three non-famous men to fill the role.
And Logie-winning ABC personality Tony Armstrong has now addressed the rumours, saying he was never personally approached with an offer.
The 32-year-old, who is notoriously private when it comes to his love life, told The Herald Sun his management may have been contacted by producers, but the matter was never discussed with him.

'They [producers] might have got onto my management but it never got to me,' said Tony, who is the sports presenter for ABC News Breakfast.
'I get anxiety just walking down here [the Logie Awards red carpet] so I can't imagine dating on TV.'
