Johnny Depp-related memorabilia has surged in value in the wake of the actor's highly-publicized defamation trial.

The company Propstore on Tuesday sold a prop from the actor's 1990 movie Edward Scissorhands - an insert hand with scissors the star wore in the motion picture - for $81,250, TMZ reported on Wednesday.

The total nearly doubled the projected value of the prop, as experts last month estimated the piece of film memorabilia was expected to sell in a range between $30,000 and $50,000, according to the outlet.

Sources with the auctioneer told the outlet that the trial, and result in Depp's favor, was instrumental in driving demand for the item.

Another piece of Depp-related memorabilia, the motorcycle he used in the 1990 John Waters film Cry-Baby, is slated to go up for sale on Kruse GWS Auctions with an opening bid of $250,000 TMZ previously reported.

Depp starred in the titular role in the 1990 Tim Burton film alongside a cast that included his ex-girlfriend Winona Ryder, Dianne Wiest, Anthony Michael Hall, Alan Arkin and the late Vincent Price.

His character was an artificial man whose inventor (Price) died before completing him, leaving him with scissors for hands. He eventually ventures into suburbia where he is taken in by a family, and encounters problems with others in the neighborhood.
