Australian actor Liam McIntyre has admitted he 'feels a need to apologise' to his unborn daughter amid the U.S. Supreme Court's anti-abortion ruling.

The 40-year-old, who is from Adelaide but now lives in the U.S., said in a Twitter and Instagram post on Saturday that the excitement of announcing his baby news with wife Erin Hasan was lessened, but vowed to ensure his daughter 'knows her worth'.

The U.S. Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v Wade, ending the constitutional right to abortion in the U.S., means individual states can decide whether abortion can be made illegal.
