Love Island's Paige Thorne awkwardly dumped Jay Younger in favour of Jacques O’Neill during Monday's episode of the ITV2 reality show.

The paramedic, 24, admitted she and the rugby player, 23, had been 'getting on' and were 'solid', even though she had been getting to know Jay all the while.

However, with the striptease challenge returning in Tuesday's installment, fans have predicted her heart rate will be raised the most by the investment analyst, 28.

They wrote: 'I reckon paiges heart rate will be raised the most by Jay and Tasha’s will be by Charlie #LoveIsland.'

The Scotsman took the admission surprisingly well, replying: 'Not at all, I got that impression straight away and I was going to actually say to you tonight.

'Paige I’m going to back off because I don’t want to get in the way. You’ve got a great thing going on with Jacques so I’ll leave you guys to it.'

Earlier on, Jay had quizzed Paige on the mixed signals she's sending, saying: 'It's difficult because you can only do so much in here. I just don't want to be that guy. 

When she asked if he's holding back, he replied: 'Probably, yeah. I just don't want to put you off.'

Paige said: 'I like all the playfulness, it's difficult that's the thing if you are playful, do you cos I enjoy that kind of vibe anyway.'

Jay replied: 'When I kissed you, some people have tongue contact immediately but you were pushing, like, who would you have gone for? Would you have given me a peck?

Paige cheekily responded: 'I would have given you a snog for sure.'

Jay then said in a confessional: 'Paige will take it at her own pace and shut it down cos of Jacques and stuff.'

Meanwhile, Jaques got riled up when he asked Paige to join him in the pool, only for her to stop and have a conversation with his love rival Jay. He then fumed to the boys that he didn't think Paige was being straight with him.

Finally, Love Island shared a preview of Tuesday's show which gave a glimpse of Paige seductively dressed in sexy attire while licking Jay's ear.
