Lily Allen has revealed she didn't know if she would ever be able to get on stage sober again following her Glastonbury performance with Olivia Rodrigo.

The singer, 37, said her daughters Ethel, 10, and Marnie, nine, were 'very proud' to see their mother entertain the crowd at the festival, where Olivia invited her on stage during her set.

Sharing a clip of her performance to Instagram, Lily expressed her delight that her daughters got to see her play and described it as an 'amazing day'.

She wrote: 'Quite emosh. Things are truly messed up, but at least my babies got to see their mamma play and slay Glastonbury with their favourite pop star.

'They were very proud and so was I. I didn't know whether I'd be able to get up on a stage like that sober again if I'm honest, a part of me thought it was all in the past.

'I had the most amazing day. Thanks @oliviarodrigo for having us. You smashed your first Glastonbury. Who knows, maybe i won't hang up my [microphone] just yet.'

Olivia invited Lily on stage to perform her song F**k You in response to the US Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Lily shared several snaps of herself both on stage and backstage ahead of the performance along with a letter Olivia wrote her to thank her for joining her at the festival.

Olivia wrote: 'Lily, thank you so much for sharing this day with me. It's truly the biggest honour. Your music and your songwriting is so brilliant and I've been so inspired by you for years.

'I'm so grateful to know you. Thank you for making this a day I'll never forget. Olivia.'

Introducing her guest performer, Olivia said: ‘Someone that I absolutely adore is here today, I think she’s the most incredible song-writer, the most incredible artist, the most incredible person, and I’m so lucky that she’s here singing with me today.’
