Love Island star Jack Keating's mother Yvonne Connolly has addressed cruel comments aimed at her son after he made his Casa Amor debut.

Her social media manager son, 23, whom she shares with ex-husband Ronan Keating - was among six boys who joined the second villa this week but unfortunately faced criticism from trolls over his ginger hair and 'pale Irish skin'. 

And while thanking people for the majority of supportive messages, the protective mum couldn't help reference those who criticised her son on Twitter.

Taking to her Instagram stories alongside an image of the pair, she penned: 'After the teaser I’m looking forward to watching Jack tonight on Love Island," she penned on Instagram.

'Thank you so much for all your comments. All positive (can’t say the same for other platforms).

'So many people wishing Jack well and rooting for him. It means so much. My heart'.

Yvonne has been vocal in supporting her son on social media, having shared a sweet message when he entered the house.

She penned: 'Love island has been providing the entertainment and bringing the drama this season. Just when I thought I can’t take anymore excitement my son Jack keating is heading in to Casa Amor tonight. (It was a hard secret to keep !!)'

It comes after Jack's father Ronan admitted his 'heart was beating out of his chest' watching his son enter Love Island.

The former Boyzone star, 45, confessed to being 'nervous as hell' as Jack was introduced as one of six Casa Amor boys hoping to tempt the villa girls away from their partners.

Singer Ronan, who's also a dad to Missy, 21, Ali, 16, Cooper, five, and Coco, two, said the entire family are tuning into Love Island to support Jack, after starring on the ITV2 dating series was something he 'wanted to do.'

'I won't lie, I've been nervous as hell,' confessed Ronan.
