She recently reflected on having a 'rough time' after her split with husband Richie Myler in April.

But Helen Skelton found something to smile about on Tuesday as she showed off her knife throwing skills in a new video shared to Instagram.

The Countryfile presenter, 38, looked delighted and remarked: 'I really enjoyed that!' after honing her new skill and repeatedly hitting the target during a trip to a country farm. 

Helen looked radiant in an animal-print summer dress by Wyse London, which she teamed with a pair of burgundy sandals.

The TV star added gold hooped earrings and left her blonde locks loose for the day, finishing off her look with bold red lipstick.

Helen looked in her element as she happily bragged to the camera about how well her knife-throwing skills were as she walked to the target and exclaimed: 'Bullseye!' 

It comes after Helen admitted her life is currently 'chaos' as she addressed her split from husband Richie. 

The presenter appeared on Monday's episode of Lorraine where she revealed her mother Janet is currently helping her out with her and Richie's three children Ernie, seven, and Louis, five and baby Elsie, six months.

Lorraine began the interview by saying: 'Helen, it's so good to see you. You've had a bit of a rough time, I know. But the best way to get over stuff is to just get out there again - out there working.' 

Helen responded: 'I think anybody in my position would say the same,' as her dogs began to bark in the background. 'I've got three small children and a very loud dog as you can hear.'
