The lifestyle icon, 80, confessed she wishes her friends would die so she would be able to date their husbands during a very candid interview on Chelsea Handler's podcast, Dear Chelsea. Stewart admitted all the men she typically meets are already married to her friends, which poses an obvious problem for her. 'Couldn't that person just die?' Martha Stewart got real about the trials and tribulations of finding love; pictured November 2021 'I always think, "Oh gosh, couldn't that person just die?"' she told Chelsea. 'The wife,' Chelsea clarified. 'Not painfully, just die,' Martha said. 'It hasn't worked out.' Martha also said absolutely 'nothing' was going on in the romance department as of late but she did have a crush recently on a married man. 'It hasn't worked out': Stewart got very candid about her love life during an appearance on Handler's podcast; pictured April 2022 'I had two mad crushes in the last month, which is really good for me,' Martha said. 'But turns out one of them is married to the mother of some friends of mine and he's so attractive,' she continued. 'You know you can't be a homewrecker,' Chelsea said. 'No, I'm not, I've never been a homewrecker. Never. And I've tried really hard not to be. I've had the opportunity to be a homewrecker and I have not taken anybody up on it,' Martha said. 'And that's really where I meet men, they're all married to friends of mine or something like that,' she continued. Martha admitted last year on Watch What Happens Live that she was dating someone. After first denying she was seeing anyone, she changed her answer: 'I shouldn't say no. I mean yes, but I'm not going to tell you.' Martha was previously married to her former husband, Andrew Stewart. The former couple started a family with the birth of their only daughter, Alexis, in 1965. The two went on to separate in 1987, and they finalized their divorce three years later. Martha was previously in a on-again-off-again relationship with tech developer Charles Simonyi. The two were intermittently spotted together over a period of 15 years, and she notably planned a gourmet meal for her former partner and several astronauts living at the International Space Station. The former couple eventually split up for good in 2008. She was later briefly romantically linked to actor Anthony Hopkins, although their relationship did not last.
