Monica Lewinsky proposed having a lyric referencing her affair with then-President Bill Clinton removed from Beyonce's 2013 track Partition after the singer vowed to replace an ableist slur from her new song Heated.

Soon after her very public request via her Twitter, Beyonce's hardcore fans called the Beyhive made a beeline for her.

One fan wrote: 'Why did you keep the soiled dress and not clean it?' while another criticized her for deciding to 'pick a black woman to go after.'

Monica, 49, raised the issue after news of the lyric removal broke on Monday.

'uhmm, while we're at it.... #Partition,' she tweeted, along with a link to a Variety article reporting on the matter.

The lyric referencing the scandal reads: 'Now my mascara running, red lipstick smudged/Oh, me so horny, yeah, he want to f**k/He popped all my buttons, and he ripped my blouse/He Monica Lewinsky-ed all on my gown.'

Lewinsky famously had an affair with Clinton between 1995 and 1997, with their relationship beginning when she was a 22-year-old unpaid White House intern - and eventually led to his impeachment on December 19, 1998.

Monica previously suggested the lyric be amended in a 2014 Vanity Fair article.

'Thanks, Beyoncé, but if we’re verbing, I think you meant "Bill Clinton’d all on my gown," not "Monica Lewinsky’d,"' she wrote.

Beyonce fans did not take too kindly to Monica's tweet, and took to Twitter to throw shade her way.

One person wrote: 'While we are back on this subject. Why did you keep the soiled dress and not clean it. And had your Mama safe keep it for you. If I bought my Mama a "soiled" dress to keep... Gurl, God himself wouldn't be able to save me from her,' adding a peace sign.

Another said: 'I think it's telling how out of all the people who have said s**t about you, you decide to pick a black woman to go after...'

Monica responded back to the user, writing: 'Seriously?! I appreciate that this may be the first thing I've said on this that's come across your radar, but please consider that. And of all the musicians who've done this, she was the one I was the most disappointed by... because I was such a fan.'

Another Beyonce fan tweeted: 'Okay, how about you un-blow Hillary's husband, can u do that?'

'You have zero room to criticize anyone about anything. Your behavior and subsequent abnegation of your gross misconduct set women back centuries. Most of women "get it out the mud" versus on our knees. Maybe be quiet and continue with real self reflection?' one user said.

Another was shocked at why Monica went after Beyonce when she was being criticized for another lyric.

'It's always so depressing to see how empathy goes so far. Why is any of this about
