A bucket of cold water, please, for actress Nicola Walker who appears smitten by the manly charms of Sean Bean — her on-screen husband in upcoming BBC One drama Marriage.

Asked what was her best moment during filming, the Spooks and Unforgotten actress, 52, (pictured with Bean) told Daily Mail's Richard Eden: 'Applying cream to Sean Bean's thigh area. Ian [his screen character] has a nasty rash and it's a beautiful moment. That was a tremendous day in my professional career.'

Let's hope Nicola's real-life husband, actor Barnaby Kay, 53, approves…

Funnily enough, Nicola recently said she is not an advocate for tying the knot, ahead of her starring turn in the new drama with Bean, 63.

The actress remarked on her marriage to Barnaby who she wed in 2006 after a 20 year relationship, as she promoted the series in a new interview,

The Spooks star told the Radio Times: 'Me and my husband, because we both lost a parent young, we thought, after we had a child, we ought to get married, in case one of us dies, so that the legalities are clear.

'Which is not the most romantic reason to get married but is probably the only thing that would have got me to sign a piece of paper.

'I'm not a great advocate of marriage in real life.'

As she prepares for her role in the BBC drama alongside veteran actor Sean Bean, to air, she pondered her co-star's five marriages.

'I've only got one, so Sean brings up the average [between the duo],' the stalwart of screen said.

Nicola added that she considered it to be impolite to ask Game of Thrones star Sean what it was like to marry so many times.

Sean is currently married to former actress Ashley Moore.

The celebrated actor exchanged vows with Moore, who at 33 is 26-years his junior, in 2017 after a five-year relationship that began with 'a chance meeting' in his favourite North London pub.

Bean's first marriage to school sweetheart Debra James, a hairdresser, came in 1981, when he was just 21.

However it crumbled soon after he moved to London a short time later to study at RADA, where fell in love with fellow student Melanie Hill.

The actress, who starred in the classic sitcom Bread, became his second wife in 1990. The couple have two daughters together, Lorna and Molly.

Their marriage lasted seven years and soon after their split, the star confirmed he was dating actress Abigail Cruttenden, who he met on the set of ITV series Sharpe.

The couple married in November 1997 and their daughter Evie was born the following year; however, they split when their baby was only a few months old.

He married for the fourth time, to actress Georgina Sutcliffe at Marylebone Register Office in February 2008 but their marriage lasted for just two years.

In the BBC drama which airs on Sunday August 14, Walker and Bean look at the pitfalls of a long relationship between characters Emma and Ian - who are bonded by a terrible event that they seldom refer to.
