Holliday Grainger has discussed her own experiences of the #Metoo movement as well as the backlash against author JK Rowling's controversial trans views.

Speaking to The Independent the actress, 33, who will soon return for the fifth season of Strike, which is based on the Harry Potter creator's novels, admitted she was 'too chickens***' to discuss her own experiences of sexual harassment.

'People always ask me to comment on the JK Rowling thing, but I've never once been asked a question about people who I was really scared to be asked about [high profile sexual harassment]'.

Adding: 'I really respected everyone that came forward with their own experiences because it wouldn't have had an impact had not everyone done that. But I'm too p***y f***ing chickens*** to do it'.

Going on to discuss JK Rowling Holliday, who plays Robin Ellacott in the series, said she didn't realise the 'level of controversy' the writer's trans comments had caused.

The Harry Potter creator has faced repeated accusations of transphobia for her supposed defence of women's rights, with actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson all condemning the novelist's views.

And during a 2020 interview Holliday found herself hitting the headlines when she was accused of muscling in on the debate.

'I think the headline for that was like 'actors chime in' and well, we didn't really chime in, did we? We were told to prepare something because we were told we would be asked and we were told we'd better answer.'

It comes after the acclaimed author recently said she was not snubbed from the recent Harry Potter reunion show over her controversial views on people - but instead turned down an invitation.

The Return To Hogwarts reunion was released on January 1, but did not feature Ms Rowling aside from in old archive footage.

Her appearance on the 20-year anniversary show was widely speculated about following her statements about women's and transgender people's rights, for which she accused of being 'transphobic', but no statement from the author clarified the matter at the time.

She has historically spoken out about cancel culture amid claims she has been 'cancelled' by younger generations, but in a rare interview today she said she 'didn't want to be a part of it'.

Speaking with Graham Norton on Virgin Radio, the 57-year-old said: 'I was asked to be on that and I decided I didn't want to be a
