Tom Cruise showed off his impressive skills as a parachutist as he swooped to the ground while performing corkscrew turns and a plethora of sky acrobatics while filming Mission: Impossible in the Lake District on Wednesday.
The actor, 60, who plays Ethan Hunt in the famous movie franchise, was seen wearing a black jumpsuit while attached to a royal blue parachute.
Hollywood heavyweight Tom made some hair-raising turns as he plummeted towards the lush green grass in Cumbria having jumped out of a helicopter which was seen in the sky above him.

Another helicopter was seen nearby as footage was captured for the upcoming film, which is scheduled for release on July 7 next year.
Tom was also followed to the ground by another parachutist who had cameras strapped to his body on a frame to ensure some quality shots were taken.
The movie legend looked calm and collected after touching down, with members of the crew on hand to pack the parachute away.

A group of local walkers in the Lake District got a surprise when they stumbled upon Tom filming Mission: Impossible on Tuesday.
Adam Wheeler and Lucy Hinch from County Durham were going for a walk with their Siberian Husky Blitz when they spotted the Hollywood star filming his latest blockbuster.
Speaking out: Speaking to The Northern Echo, Adam said several people wanted photos with Tom who happily obliged. He said: 'He was nice and polite and really humble'

The actor, who was being helicoptered to High Cragg before soaring down to Buttermere below, happily posed for a photograph with the pair, before thanking them and leaping off again.
Speaking to The Northern Echo, Adam said several people wanted photos with Tom who happily obliged.
He said: 'He was nice and polite and really humble. Tom Cruise apologised for the noise of the helicopters and asked if we were alright.
