Former Hollyoaks star Davinia Taylor and her sons paid their respects to the Queen during the late monarch's funeral from home on Monday as they got dressed up in smart clothes and black ties.

The actress, 44, said her family were unable to get to London to join the crowds of people who lined the streets to see Queen Elizabeth II's coffin travel by hearse from Westminster Abbey to Windsor after the state funeral.

Davinia took to Instagram to share some pictures of her boys - Luxx, 11, Asa, eight, and Jude, six, who she shares with her ex-husband Dave Gardner - as they stood outside their school chapel before returning home to watch the service.

The screen star, who is also mother to Grey, 15, captioned her post: 'As we had so many sporting obligations we didn’t get to London so we donned our black tie watched the funeral on TV, picked some wild flowers and placed them at the boys' chapel at school St Peter’s.

'Then went on a super smart walk!!!!!! RIP HRH wish I had such dedication and consistency!! (The boys were totally uninterested in the funeral and kept moaning but I thought they would at least have a memory…even if it was of me saying SHUSHHHH and stand up smartly for an hour !) took me right back to assembly at school …. #royalfuneral #queenelizabethii #farewellmaam #riphrhqueenelizabeth2'

Britain ground to a halt today as millions gathered together to watch the Queen's funeral and bid her a final farewell from home, in pubs, cares homes and airports.
