Ellen DeGeneres was ripped by her one-time associate, entertainer Greyson Chance, as 'manipulative,' 'self-centered' and 'blatantly opportunistic.'
Chance, 25, spoke Thursday with Rolling Stone about his relationship with the talk show host, 64, who he first crossed paths with after he was featured in a viral video singing the Lady Gaga hit Paparazzi, making an appearance on her show at the age of 12 in May of 2010.
The Oklahoma-born performer said he was overwhelmed when DeGeneres sought to feature him on her program.

'We just couldn’t believe what was happening,' Chance said. 'We were so unsure of what we were getting into, and the person that helped cure all of that skepticism and chaotic energy was Ellen.'
Chance said that DeGeneres vowed she was 'going to protect' him and be there for him, saying, 'We’re going to do this together.'
DeGeneres then created a label called eleveneleven in conjunction with Interscope Geffen A&M Records, inking Chance and setting him up with managers, bookers and a publicist.
Chance said that when he put out a mini EP in October of 2010, DeGeneres 'became domineering and way too controlling' over him, impacting his mental well-being.
Chance said DeGeneres - who left the air about two years after a toxic workplace scandal - exhibited nasty behavior toward him and other staffers, noting, 'She was just degrading to people.' He was pictured last year in Nashville

One rift that developed was over the 2011 Justin Bieber documentary Never Say Never, Chance said, as DeGeneres acquired an advance copy and instructed him to watch it immediately and pattern his work after Bieber's.
Chance said that when he didn't watch the doc right away, DeGeneres chastised his mother Lisa, asking her, 'What type of mother are you?'
