Lewis Capaldi has revealed he was left 'hearing voices' after taking medically prescribed cannabis oil to control his anxiety after being diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome.
The singer, 25, described how he 'freaked out' after taking two drops of the substance and was left searching the internet on 'what to do if you've taken too much cannabis oil'.
It comes after Lewis went public with his diagnosis of Tourette's syndrome this month, saying he doesn't want fans to think he's been 'taking cocaine or something'.

Speaking in an Instagram Live on Friday, Lewis said of his recent cannabis oil experience: 'I've started taking this cannabis oil. I got it medically prescribed to help with my anxiety.
'I'd never tried it before but it has THC in it. I took the second drop as prescribed and I freaked the f*** out. I don't do that kind of stuff and I absolutely freaked. I was in my room by myself and I was hearing things. I thought I could hear voices.
'I had to search YouTube videos to find out what to do if you've taken too much cannabis oil. It was mad. It was f*****g intense.'
The oil contained THC, which is the main psychoactive ingredient associated with getting cannabis users 'high' and releases dopamine to relax whoever takes it.

During the Instagram Live he also revealed that he is now engaging in a healthier lifestyle, saying: 'That is just my life. I am eating salads.
'I am just trying to get the mind and body right. That oil is no joke though. I didn't know you could get high off it. I felt absolutely nuts.'
Last month the hitmaker explained of his health news: 'I have been diagnosed with Tourette's.
'I wanted to speak about it because I didn't want people to think I was taking cocaine or something.'

Lewis is learning to live with the symptoms of the condition, and the chart-topping star has even had Botox injections to help to control his tics.
He told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: 'My shoulder twitches when I am excited, happy, nervous or stressed. It is something I am living with. It is not as bad as it looks.'
Lewis also addressed the issue during an Instagram Live session with his fans.
