Robbie Williams has walked back through his life in looks while speaking out about some of the most iconic moments of his 32-year long career.

The singer, 48, who rose to fame with Take That in 1990, retraced his time in the boyband, took a peek at his post-group days of bleached hair and Adidas tracksuits, and recalled the gruelling days on the set of his music video for his 2000 hit Rock DJ, when it took him seven hours to get into a lycra bodysuit costume.

Pop star Robbie told British Vogue of the promo: 'The latex outfit that took seven hours to get in, two hours to get out of.

'I thought the opportunity was too good to not go running down the road in this outfit by myself, just to freak people out in cars.

'I’d wait behind a hedge and then a car would come and I would run across the road and then jump behind a hedge, just to make people think, “What the f**k was that”.'

Robbie also looked back at the video for his 1997 hit Let Me Entertain You, with the star saying he was scared legal action would be taken against him after he emulated the rock band Kiss in the film.

He explained: 'We are of course aping Kiss. I was actually worried they were going to sue me because they did a lot of that when it came to anybody doing anything like this.

'I had my make-up done by the wonderful Gina Kane who has been my make-up artist for 27 years.

'I was very loose that day and, if I do say so myself, performed very well for a video shoot.'

Looking back on his boyband years, Robbie described the video for Take That's 1992 track Do What U Like, in which the group all appeared topless, as 'the worst video ever to be made', adding that they had to style themselves for the shoot.

He said: 'On Take That’s 1992 Do What U Like music video: 'The worst video ever to be made, and because it’s the worst video ever to be made, it’s possibly the best video ever to be made.

'I am roughly 17, maybe 16. We were given budget to style ourselves.

'Two things about that video. I was immensely proud that we did a pop promotional video. I also thought, nobody should ever see it.

'We were of an era and an age where controversy was a good thing, and also I for one am one of those people that says, "You know, if there’s a button and it says ‘don’t touch’, I’m going to press that button".

'So with controversy, or raunchy, or too much… you can never have too much. Too much please.'

On getting the opportunity to sing lead vocal on the band's 1993 song Relight My Fire, Robbie said: 'I wasn’t very confident as a singer when I was in Take That. I found the vocal booth intimidating and I also thought I couldn’t sing.

'I was given the opportunity to sing the lead vocal on this song and I’ll be honest, I didn’t do a very good job.

'So Gary took over and did the lead vocal on this tune and did an excellent job. Absolutely smashed it.'
