Miley Cyrus was among the dozens of musical artists to perform at the star-studded Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The Night Crawling singer, who called the event 'the most special way to remember the MOST special person', joined members of Def Leppard, and other stars, to perform their 1983 hit song Photograph.

With the emotional tribute show still fresh in her mind and heart, Cyrus took to social media the following day to reveal that that particular song was actually 'a personal request' from the late Foo Fighters drummer that came in the form of an old voicemail he left for Cyrus.

It turns out Cyrus used to live in the same neighborhood as Hawkins. And when he learned that she was packing up and moving to a new home he decided to give her call.

She didn't pick up, but Hawkins left the voicemail that would give her the inspiration to play Photograph at his tribute concert.

'What up Miley, it's Taylor. I heard you're moving... waah,' he says in the message, which ends with him making a crying sound to voice his sadness over her decision to move.

It's at this point that he reveals he's rocking out to Def Leppard.

'I'm listening to Photograph by Def Leppard,' he continues, and then offers Miley some high praise by adding, 'You could kill that one,' which would eventually plant the seed for her to perform the tune.

For Taylor: In the wake of Hawkins having left that voice message about Def Leppard, Cyrus decided to play Photograph with three members of the legendary rockers 'as a personal request from the legend himself', which included singer Joe Elliott
