The spooky season has arrived at the US box office.
Smile, a horror flick starring Sosie Bacon and Jessie T Usher, about a doctor who begins to have frightening experiences after a traumatic incident with a patient, came in number one earning $22 million in ticket sales during it's debut weekend, according to Deadline.
Don't Worry Darling dropped to second place its second week in theaters. The Olivia Wilde directed thriller starring Florence Pugh and Harry Styles, pulled in $7.3 million, a 64-percent decrease from the film's debut.

The re-released Avatar continued to enjoy thrilling audiences ahead of its highly anticipated sequel. The fantasy adventure came in fifth and conjured up $4.7 million.
