The new Australian Idol panel was revealed last week with former judge Marcia Hines (pictured) notably missing from the line-up Her representative added that Marcia 'long ago accepted that she would not be a part of the judging panel of the new version of Australian Idol'. 'It has never been an expectation that she would be invited back,' they said. 'She has just got on with her working life and wishes the new team well - particularly Kyle, who is a dear and old friend of hers. 'Not that she would have said no had she been invited, but you can't change the constant need in television for evolution and change.' 'I would like to think Australian Idol, being the pioneer of all the music shows that now exist, is still in the hearts and minds of the general public here in Australia,' she said.
