Love Life: Chantelle Houghton has said she wants to stay single after a failed marriage with Preston (pictured in 2006) and two failed engagements Ex glamour model Chantelle told The Sun that although she is not in a relationship with anyone, she is 'OK with that' and is instead focusing on living in the present. 'I'm not desperate for somebody. I want someone to add to my life, not take from me, which is previously what I've had,' she said 'I'm not allowing anyone to invite problems into my life. 'I'd rather be on my own, rather than be sat on the sofa with someone who drives you around the bend and you don't want to be romantic with, just for the sake of saying "oh I'm with somebody".' The reality star, who appeared on the celebrity spin-off in 2006 as the only civilian contestant, married singer Preston after they met in the house, but they split just nine months later. Not meant to be: The television personality told her fans late last year that she and ex-fiancé Michael Strutt (left) were calling off the engagement following the relationship breakdown Chantelle recently revealed she still has the wedding dress from her big day 16 years earlier, and she 'won the game of love' by meeting Preston during her time on the show. Speaking on This Morning in August, Chantelle reflected on being the only civilian contestant in the celebrity edition, tasked with convincing her housemates that she was genuinely famous. She went onto win that series. She told hosts Rochelle Humes and Vernon Kay: 'I didn't know what they had planned for me until I get into the house the only thing, I'd been told was it was half celebs half normal people.' Exes: And just months after joking she 'needed a new husband', the mother-of-one has now sworn off any relationship altogether for the foreseeable future (pictured with Michael) 'My aim was to just stay in the house, the confidence that I had when I was that young - I wish I had some of that now.' Chantelle then reflected on her short-lived marriage to Preston, though the couple were later reunited on the show's Ultimate series in 2010, and have remained on good terms ever since. Asked if she would take part again, Chantelle added: 'I would do it again, I need a new husband.' Chantelle also shares a nine-year-old daughter with her ex-fiancé Alex Reid. Non married life!
