Westlife's Nicky Byrne sustained some painful-looking injuries after falling through the stage at the band's latest show in their Wild Dreams Tour.

The singer, 44, shocked fans as he fell below the staging at Glasgow's OVO Hydro on Saturday after failing to notice that mechanical stairs had opened up behind him.

And taking to Instagram the following day, he shared the moment it all went wrong along with images of his red-raw bruises.

He wrote: 'Hey All, Thank you for all your well wishes! So last night I did have a little accident on stage in Glasgow, where I didn't realise the mechanical stairs had opened behind me.

'A crazy moment which could have been a lot worse but I'm completely fine, a little bit battered and bruised but ok! I'll see y'all back up there tonight.

'The show must go on. Thanks for all your well wishes. #ReallyFlyingWithoutWings Love Nicky'.

He added: 'Checked by the wonderful medics at the hydro - See you all again tonight Scotland.'

Westlife put on a stellar performance at concert venue on Saturday night, as they continue to tour their latest album.

The foursome looked the part as they all wore matching monochrome abstract shirts, trousers or blazers. 

The boyband couldn't contain their smiles as they performed their greatest hits for the sold out arena. 

Shane Filan, Markus Feehily, Kian Egan, and Nicky showed off their dance moves as they made their way around the stage.
