Rick and Morty star Spencer Grammer has finally revealed the severity of the hand injury she suffered after being stabbed by an intoxicated man outside East Village restaurant The Blank Ant on July 24, 2020.
The angry assailant - who was never arrested - used a pocket knife to sever the 39-year-old LA native's median nerve and two tendons as she 'tried to alleviate a fight.'
'I honestly shouldn't have tried to help,' Spencer admitted to People on Tuesday.

'I think you're just one of those people who runs to help or you don't. It's just in you. And I probably would do that same thing again if I went back in time. Although it has affected my life pretty deeply.'
Grammer marveled: 'The crazy thing is, things like that happen so quickly. It all happened in a matter of minutes. I know that within five minutes your whole life can change, so it's better to be safe than sorry.'
The Solar Opposites guest star's injury required surgery and 'crazy rehab' but she had support from her 11-year-old son Emmett Emmanual from her six-year marriage to firefighter James Hesketh, which ended in 2017.
'My son had to tie my shoes for six months,' stated Spencer, who's friend Jan Phillip Mueller was also stabbed.

'I still don't have feeling in most of my hand. Sometimes I can't button things, or put in an earring. So there was always this worry that I was going to need to do something on set and not be able to do it.'
