Joss Stone candidly discussed having 'intrusive thoughts' and post-partum depression after giving birth to her daughter Violet.

The singer, 35, shares a daughter Violet, one, with her boyfriend Cody DaLuz and they welcomed their second child, a son named Shackleton, in October.

Speaking about having her first child, Joss said she was 'elated' at the time but often had 'intrusive' thoughts about something bad happening to her baby daughter.

She admitted she was concerned it was a case of post-partum depression and said she felt like she 'couldn't live with' having 'horrific thoughts'.

She told Metro: 'Every now and then I had intrusive thoughts of something happening to my little girl, like wolves running through the front door and eating her.

'I thought, "I can't live like this, this is horrible", I said to my mum, "I keep having these horrific thoughts". 

'And she goes, "it will go away, it's just a mad time – you've got the hormones and you're in love, and concerned", apparently, it happens to a lot of women.'

She admitted she felt like she had a 'weird horror movie' in her head but said the thoughts eventually passed.

It comes after Joss recently detailed her 'scary' experience giving birth to her second baby by emergency C-section, following a devastating miscarriage one year before.
