John Leguizamo recently said that he based his character in The Menu on 'horrible human' Steven Seagal.

The 62-year-old character actor plays a has-been action star in the black comedy horror film and he didn't shy away from revealing his source of inspiration. 

Leguizamo, who has worked in Hollywood for three decades, blasted the 70-year-old martial arts icon in a new interview last week.

Unsavory: 'I kind of based mine on Steven Seagal,' John told Entertainment Weekly, opening up about how he prepared for his washed-up action star in The Menu. 'I had a bad run-in with him,' he explained. 'We did a movie together'

'I had a bad run-in with him,' he explained. 'We did a movie together. It was Executive Decision.'

Executive Decision was a hit 1996 action film starring Kurt Russel as an intelligence operative who rescues an airliner hijacked by terrorists. 

Leguizamo played Russel's sidekick while Seagal's Lieutenant Colonel was surprisingly killed in a first-act plot twist, much to Leguizamo's relief, it seems.

'I've met lots of these stars like that,' said John. 'Maybe before they were washed up. I mean, now they're washed-up.'
