Speaking to Helliar on her Hit Network radio show Carrie & Tommy, Carrie recalled how she pulled him and Waleed into a wardrobe to tell them news before she announced it live on-air. Carrie said Helliar's reaction was 'The show will be fine!' The Project's Carrie Bickmore (L) has revealed the shock swipe that was taken at her by Peter Helliar (R) when she announced to him she was leaving the Ten series She added: 'And then later you texted me and you were like, 'I think I just went into a bit of a shock'.' Helliar, who also quit the show this month, said he was happy with his 'amazing' choice to leave. 'You make the decision, you second-guess yourself for a little while and you know you have to announce it,' Peter said. Carrie recalled Peter's reaction, saying: 'You said something so quickly — 'The show will be fine!',' she said, laughing at his reaction. Both here with Waleed Aly (middle) '…[but] doing it last night just felt really lovely,' he explained. However, he made one crucial mistake on the night. 'Once I got the first words out, I did have one thought, 'Why didn't I put this in autocue? Why did I think I could riff this?'.' Carrie is set to have her final show on November 30. Sarah Harris, who previously hosted Studio 10, will now take the role. Lisa Wilkinson (pictured) also announced her resignation from the program Sarah recently told Stellar magazine: 'I did not see this coming. And I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.'
