Kevin Spacey has booked his first role since winning a sexual battery lawsuit brought against him by Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp.

The 63-year-old actor picked up a role in an upcoming indie thriller, according to Variety

Cain Hill director Gene Fallaize is writing and directing the project which will follow a British government minister who begins an affair with the Prime Minister.

While driving home one night, the government minister's self-driving car is hijacked by someone who knows of the affair.

Bridgerton actress Lauren Metcalfe and actor Mark Hampton will appear in the movie as the government minister and the P.M. respectively.

Shooting is set to commence next year though Spacey is reportedly wrapping up his part in the movie this week.

When asked if Spacey's legal issues troubled him, director Fallaize was quick to point out his professional accomplishments.

'He's one of the greatest actors of our generation,' he said. 'His personal life aside — it's something I can't comment on and have no knowledge of — it's an opportunity to work with one of the acting greats.'

The American Beauty actor won his first court case last month in a New York court.

A jury found that Rapp, who who accused the Hollywood star of sexual misconduct towards him when he was 14 and was seeking $40 million in damages, failed to prove Spacey 'touched a sexual or intimate body part,' leading Judge Lewis Kaplan to dismiss the case.

The panel took just one hour and 20 minutes to reach their verdict. Rapp, now 51, was seeking compensation for mental and emotional suffering, medical expenses and loss of work.

He claimed the House of Cards star pinned him down on a bed and pushed his pelvis against him in 1986 - an allegation Spacey's lawyers strenuously denied.

During the trial Rapp's lawyers tried to convince the jury that Spacey carried out the incident in an attempt to 'gratify his sexual desire.'

Spacey's attorney Jennifer Keller told the court at the start of the trial her client 'wanted justice'.

'Once you've heard both sides, you'll be convinced this alleged assault
