Some of Aaron Carter's ashes will be spread in the Florida Keys next month with those of his late sister Leslie, their mother Jane revealed.

Aaron was found dead aged 34 in his bathtub in Lancaster, California on November 5. No cause of death has been officially declared, but he was known to have struggled with mental health problems and addictions.

Jane told TMZ that Aaron's fiancée Melanie Martin, with whom he shares a one-year-old son called Prince, will not be present when the ashes are sprinkled.

Some of Aaron and Leslie's remains will be preserved so that they can be interred with their mother upon her death.

Jane revealed that Lance Bass, who shot to fame in the boy band NSYNC with Aaron's brother Nick Carter, told the family that they could use his house in Los Angeles for a memorial service.

However the Carters opted to defer such a ceremony on account of the death threats they have received, Jane says.

She maintained that she was in contact with Aaron near the end of his life, and that he texted her just days before his death asking after their family's well-being. 

Aaron, who was born in Florida, was cremated within a week of his passing and his ashes are currently in the possession of his twin sister Angel. 

Leslie died aged 25 after suffering a prescription drug overdose in 2012, and her ashes are reportedly with her widower Mike.

HIs death certificate, obtained by TMZ, says Jane was the first to inform authorities about her son's passing. The document did not specify his cause of death. 

Former child star Aaron spent his life blighted by drug addiction. it was reported law enforcement found prescription pills and cans of compressed air in the bathroom where he died. He claimed he was nearly five years sober before his death. 

Nick and Angel were seen hugging 'N Sync's Lance Bass inside and smiling as they chatted to the singer, who held his baby daughter Violet.  

Following her sibling's tragic passing, Angel paid a heartbreaking tribute to her brother on Instagram.

'To my twin… I loved you beyond measure. You will be missed dearly. My funny, sweet Aaron, I have so many memories of you and I, and I promise to cherish them,' she wrote. 

Angel continued: 'I know you’re at peace now. I will carry you with me until the day I die and get to see you again.' 

Aaron's brother, former Backstreet Boys member Nick, also wrote about his brother on social media. 

He wrote:'Very grateful for the outpour[ing] of love and support for my brother. In his memory, a donation fund has been started to benefit @onoursleevesofficial, an important children’s mental health charity helping families across America,' Nick said.

The singer posted a link to the On Our Sleeves website where fans can make donations.

Nick also said: 'Thank you for choosing to celebrate the impact of the life of Aaron Carter with a gift of hope. By honoring Aaron, you help Nick, Angel, and their family’s commitment of helping others.'

Aaron was discovered by his housekeeper, known only as Betty, who had been living at the house for three weeks. The woman had been homeless and Carter and his on again/off-again girlfriend Melanie Martin asked to look after the home after a friend's mansion was broken into.

Aaron said in an interview in August that he had been into rehab four times and had 'finally got it right.' But he went back to an outpatient program the following month to address his 'triggers.'

At the time of his death, Aaron was living with Melanie Martin, the mother of his 11-month old son, Prince.

Neighbors described the relationship as tempestuous, saying they often heard the couple shouting at each other and police were called at least three times.

One neighbor told DailyMail.com that Aaron often locked Martin out of the house, leaving her to bang on the door, screaming 'let me in'.

The neighbor said that another resident knocked on Aaron's door one day and Melanie answered.

She was asked if they could turn down the music. Melanie said she would pass along the information to Aaron. Minutes later Aaron banged on the neighbor's door and began yelling at the neighbor, he called her a 'c**t and a b***ch'.

Another person at the house told Aaron to leave their property. The police were called and Aaron tried to tell the police that the neighbor assaulted him. No arrests were made.

'Every neighbor has that 'neighbor' you have to deal with, he was that 'neighbor.' the man said.

Melanie turned up at the house after news of Aaron's death was announced. She was seen sobbing and being consoled by Aaron's real estate agent Christie Limpus-Hathaway.

She issued a statement saying: 'My fiancé Aaron Carter has passed away. I love Aaron with all my heart and it's going to be a journey to raise a son without a father. Please respect the privacy of my family as we come to terms with the loss of someone we love greatly. We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.'

Earlier this year, Aaron filed for custody of their son and a petition for protection against Martin at the Antelope Valley Courthouse in Los Angeles County.

In a court filing, he accused his ex of 'emotional distress, anguish, shoving, & scratching', and claimed she used the threat of suicide to abuse him 'emotionally.'
