The political activist is scheduled to head up one of her Fire Drill Fridays rallies on December 2 to focus attention on the climate crisis.
She kicked off the movement in 2019 after being inspired by activist Greta Thunberg, 19, to act as if 'our house is on fire.'
The gathering at DC's Freedom Plaza promises speeches from lawmakers, activists and celebrity guests. It will be the first in-person event in almost three years.
Jane has a long history of political activism, beginning in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
That activism includes a controversial trip to Hanoi in 1972 where she was photographed sitting on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun. She has apologized for any pain the photo may have cause American service members and their families.

She received major public backlash after the photo was released. The star claimed she was manipulated into sitting on the machinery in a 2011 essay on her website, writing, 'someone (I don't remember who) led me towards the gun... It all had nothing to do with where I was sitting. I hardly even thought about where I was sitting.
'The cameras flashed... It is possible that it was a set up, that the Vietnamese had it all planned. I will never know. But if they did I can't blame them. The buck stops here. If I was used, I allowed it to happen... a two-minute lapse of sanity that will haunt me forever.'
Jane revealed in a 2018 article with Harvard Business Review that she nearly gave up her acting career to focus on becoming a union organizer, but was discouraged from doing so by a friend who told her 'The movement has plenty of organizers but no movie stars. You have to keep acting and to pay more attention to your career; the movement needs you to do that.'
It was then she said she began making some of her own films, beginning with 1978's Coming Home.
