Kyle and Jackie O both call in sick - forcing KIIS FM to can the show trends now

KIIS FM was forced to dig into its audio archives this week after Kyle Sandilands called in sick. 

Sandilands has been hosting the show with fill-in presenter Brittany Hockley for the last two weeks, after his regular co-host Jackie 'O' Henderson stepped down for an undisclosed period of time due to health reasons. 

But bad luck struck again on Thursday after Sandilands failed to make it into work, forcing producers to play old clips from the Kyle And Jackie O show instead.

When approached for comment on Thursday, a KIIS FM representative confirmed that Sandilands was unwell, but did not provide information as to his ailment. 

Given the end of the ratings year isn't far off, it's possible both Sandilands and Henderson won't be back on-air until early 2023. 

Sandilands previously admitted his health isn't in the best shape, telling listeners last year that his doctor was 'very worried' and warned he could 'die instantly' as his 'blood pressure is through the roof'.

Kyle said the doctor had told him he needed to instantly de-stress to control his blood pressure.

He revealed his doctor had even asked about his drug use, but Kyle reassured him he hadn't touched cocaine in a long time.

Sandilands' latest heath battle comes weeks after Henderson announced she was stepping down from her top-rating KIIS FM breakfast show for health reasons.

Henderson who had been coughing and sounding unwell on air for weeks, explained she had been suffering from poor health since contracting Covid-19 a few months ago and needed proper rest to recover from the virus.
