David Tennant has revealed he really enjoyed working with his wife Georgia when they starred in their comedy series Staged together during lockdown.

The Doctor Who star, 51, said he hopes to collaborate with her more in the future as it was a 'fun' experience - but admitted they might have been more nervous to embark on the project if it has been earlier in their relationship.

The star added that the pair made it work as they're now a 'robust structure' - adding that they've been together 'a long time' and have 'a billion kids'.

The couple met in 2008, when Georgia starred in the BBC hit series Doctor Who, as she took on the role of David's character's genetically engineered daughter Jenny, and they married three years later.

David adopted Georgia's son, Ty, 19, from a previous relationship, and they went onto have three daughters, Olive, 10, Doris, six, and Birdie, 23 months, and a son, Wilfred, eight.

He told Times Radio of working with her on Staged: 'It's not something we'd done a lot of, but then suddenly we're locked in our house and if you're going to make a TV show there are only the people next to you who you can make it with. It was a very particular set of circumstances. It just made sense.'

'We've been together a long time, we've got a billion kids. We're more of a robust structure, so I don't think we were quite so nervous as we once were.

'Also, we've discovered we enjoy working together. Doing Staged, when we were effectively filming ourselves and directing ourselves, staging the whole thing, we discovered we quite like it. It's quite fun, so we're quite happy to do that increasingly.'

Staged was released in 2020 amid the Covid-19 pandemic and saw the actors play
