Strictly Come Dancing returns to the nation's television screens this weekend for Week Twelve - the semi-final - which will see the remaining couples try to secure their places in next week's grand final.

This week sees a shake-up in the Strictly schedule as the show moved from Saturday to Sunday to avoid a clash with the World Cup, while the results show will air on Monday.

Week Eleven's quarter-final saw presenter Helen Skelton and actor Will Mellor both top the leaderboard with an impressive 39 points each

But it was the end of the road for actress and presenter Kym Marsh, who was the tenth star to get the Strictly axe.

The former Corrie star, who was partnered up with pro Graziano Di Prima, bid farewell to the BBC show after facing singer Molly Rainford in the dance-off.

The 20th series of Strictly is hosted by duo Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman - and sitting on the judging panel is Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke.

Strictly's spin-off show It Takes Two is back on screens during the week to ensure you get your strictly fix, hosted by Rylan Clark and former professional dancer Janette Manrara.

What time is Strictly on? Is it moving to Sunday because of the World Cup?

Strictly Come Dancing's semi-final show will be moving to Sunday 11 December to avoid a clash with the latest Fifa World Cup 2022 game which will see England take on France for a place in the semi-finals.

Strictly's Week Twelve episode will air on BBC One at 7.15pm after Masterchef: The Professionals.

And with just one week left until the grand final, the pressure is well and truly on to get their steps right as the phone lines will once again open after the show for fans to vote for their favourite routines.

Its spin-off show, It Takes Two, will continue to air weeknights on BBC Two - with Rylan Clark and Janette Manrara taking the helm as hosts.

Exciting times: The couples will take to the dancefloor for their semi-final performances in front of the judges, following last week's quarter-final dances

When is the Results show and how does the voting work?

With the main show moving to Saturday because of the World Cup, it means that this week's Results Show will instead air on Monday 12 December at 8.15pm, beginning after EastEnders.

It has a shorter running time to the main show at just 45 mins long, airing until 9pm.

Each week Strictly Come Dancing viewers vote for their favourite couple either by phone or online, and these votes are combined with the scores given by the judging panel for their performances.

The two couples with the fewest votes then go head-to-head in the dance-off, delivering a reprisal of their performance from the live show.

The judges then decide which couple they would like to save, and in the event of a tie head judge Shirley Ballas is given the casting vote.

What happened in Week Eleven?

Strictly returned to screens for its Musicals Special on Friday night, as the six remaining celebrities took to the dance floor with their pro partners for the Quarter Finals and eleventh week this series.

Helen Skelton and her partner Gorka Marquez joint topped the leaderboard with Will Mellor and Nancy Xu during the jam-packed episode, while Kym Marsh came bottom after returning to the dance floor following last week's missed show due to Covid.

The show was moved to Friday night from its usual Saturday slot due to World Cup scheduling while the results show was held on Saturday night at 5:40pm.

Setting the dance floor alight during the show were Countryfile presenter Helen, 39, and her partner Gorka with their sexy Couple's Choice dance to a cabaret tune which scored them a whopping 39 - nearly a full house.

Head judge Shirley Ballas commented afterwards: 'Wow you have grown so much, what a sensual performance, it was off the charts and a memory I will treasure forever. Is this really a mummy of three or the shy timid girl we saw on week one!?'

Topping the leaderboard alongside them with 39 also were Will and his partner Nancy who danced a Foxtrot from the musical Miss Saigon.

Motsi said afterwards: 'I absolutely loved it, the feeling was so amazing, there was a flush of emotion, the footwork was so good, it was wow!'

At the other end of the scale were Kym and her partner Graziano Di Prima who danced a Cha Cha to Fame the musical - after missing last week's show due to Covid.

Giving his feedback Craig said: 'There's no room for error in a leotard, you have the body of a 20 year old! I loved the solo stuff and hip action you did brilliantly. Motsi then added: 'The cheekiness and energy was there and you caae back with a bang!'

They scored 34 overall - with two nines from Motsi and Shirley - coming bottom of the leaderboard despite great feedback.

After an incredible opening number from a series of West End stars, Molly Rainford and her partner Carlos Gu performed a Charleston from the musical Chicago and scored an incredible 38.

Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal who did a Samba to The Lion King. The pair scored an impressive 36 with nines from all four judges.

Closing the show were Fleur East and her partner Vito Coppola with a Quickstep from the musical An American In Paris. They scored 38 overall with two tens.

Who left last week?

Kym Marsh and her professional partner Graziano Di Prima became the tenth dancing duo to be booted from Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday's results show.

The actress, 46, narrowly missed out on getting through to the semi-finals after facing Molly Rainford and her partner Carlos Gu in week 11's dreaded dance-off.

In Saturday's live show, Kym came bottom of the leaderboard as she returned to the dance floor after being forced to miss last week's show due to a positive Covid test.

Kym received glowing feedback from the judges on Musicals Week but still found herself at with lower marks than her peers, scoring 34 points - with two nines from Motsi and Shirley.

While Craig, Motsi and Shirley voted to save Molly, Anton opted to try and save Kym as he said: 'As you'd expect at this time of the competition, the quality of the dance off was incredible, I thought both couples danced brilliantly, but I felt one couple raised their game with a freedom which they didn't have on Friday night, and because of that I am going to save Kym and Graziano.'

However, with three votes for her, it was the end of the road for Kym, who said upon her exit: 'Honestly I've loved every single second that I've been here. I never thought I'd get to this stage, in a million years. I have to say, it's all down to this man [Graziano] here, he is just wonderful and he will be my friend forever.

'But what a journey it's been, this show is just wonderful, it shows you things about yourself you don't know, it shows you how tough you can be.

'Everybody, the crew, the celebs, the pros, costume, make up, everyone is amazing. I've had the best time, so thank you.'

Kym went on to praise her family for supporting her, saying watching her on the show has kept her father 'going', after he was hospitalised last week.
