Three Coronation Street legends have signed brand new 12-month contracts to prolong their time on the long-running ITV soap opera.

Alan Halsall, Andy Whyment and Jack P Shepherd have extended their contracts for another year, keeping them on the cobbles throughout 2023.

The three actors were said to have 'jumped at the chance' to sign new contracts, much to the delight of dedicated fans of the popular show.

Alan, 40, has starred as Tyrone Dobbs since 1998, while Andy, 41, has spent 22 years playing Kirk Sutherland and Jack, 34, has portrayed David Platt since 2000, when he was just 12 years old.

A source told The Sun: 'Alan Halsall, Andy Whyment and Jack P Shepherd have all been handed new deals to keep them on the cobbles through 2023.

'Bosses are thrilled, they're show legends and it wouldn't be the same without them.

'They all jumped at the chance - they love their jobs.'
