Neil Jones is slammed after admitting he nearly filmed disabled woman trends now

Strictly Come Dancing professional Neil Jones has sparked backlash after he admitted he nearly filmed a video of a young disabled woman at the gym.

The dancer, 40, took to Twitter on Wednesday to brand the gymgoer an 'inspiration' after he witnessed her stand up from her wheelchair and use the treadmill while using just her arms to support herself.

Neil's tweet sparked a flurry of responses from users with one expressing their relief he didn't film the moment, saying she 'probably just wants to get on with her life.'

Neil's original tweet said: 'Today in the gym a young girl who was in her early teens and she got out of her wheelchair and slowly made her way on to the treadmill, doing her best to walk just using her arms to support herself, now I was not going to make a video of this but for me this was inspirational.'

While the dancer openly admitted he wasn't planning on recording the moment, his post still sparked some complaints from users.

One in particular noted he should 'mind his own business,' rather than watching another person trying to exercise.

'As a wheelchair user who is a member of a gym (to go swimming) who is working out to keep healthy, the same as you, this is a real fear.

'I am just going about my daily business, I do not want to find myself online to 'inspire' a load of non disabled people.

'This is so patronising, whether you meant it this way or not,' before providing a link to a TED Talk by disabled comedian
