Noel Gallagher has defended his daughter Anais as he weighed into the nepotism row.

The former Oasis rocker, 55 - who shares the model, photographer and film-maker, 22, with ex-wife Meg Mathews, 56 - told how his girl was 'good at what she does' when talking about a film she made of him.

It comes after Anais herself said she would be 'tone deaf if I didn't admit how privileged my life is' as she addressed the criticism of 'nepotism babies'.

'Nepo babies', as it is often known, refers to children being given a leg-up in their industries as a result of being born into affluent or famous families.

And in an interview with Dave Berry on Absolute Radio, Noel gave his opinion on the debate, revealing that while it is nice to 'keep things close to home', he acknowledges that the children have to be 'good at' what they're doing.

Noel said 'It depends which way you look at it. My daughter she follows me around with a camera and she films me and all that. She did a film about the making of the album.

'I guess you want to keep things close to home, but they have to be good at what they do. She’s good at what she does. She’s not just wondering around pointing a camera going "muhh there’s my dad", she is great.'

He continued: 'It’s not the worst thing in the world if you get your kids working for you, they’re cheap, do you know what I mean?... my lads are too busy scratching their balls and scouring TikTok for nonsense to worry about dad can I be your bass player or anything like that.'

In November, Anais herself addressed the criticism surrounding 'nepotism babies' and admitted she is 'grateful' for the 'privilege' her upbringing has given her.

She confessed she would be 'tone deaf and irresponsible' if she didn't admit the 'leg up' in life her upbringing has given her, saying it is something she will be grateful for 'until the day I die'.
