It marks the first time in four years the travelling music festival has been able to visit Western Australia since Covid restrictions cancelled shows there. Meanwhile, the festival, which began in 2005, has moved its Queensland gig from Townsville to the Sunshine Coast. Popular music festival Groovin the Moo will be touring nationally this year, with six shows scheduled across the country in April and May In a statement announcing the festival, organisers blamed the change of venue in Queensland on 'logistical challenges and increased financial pressures'. No artists have yet been confirmed for the shows. The concert series will begin in Wayville, SA, on April 21 before travelling to Maitland, NSW, on April 22, followed by a show in Canberra, ACT, on April 23. Next up is Bendigo, Victoria, on April 29, before the Sunshine Coast gig on April 30, with the tour wrapping up on May 6 in Bunbury, WA. Last year, Groovin the Moo managed to stage gigs in Bendigo, Maitland and Canberra after a Covid outbreak forced the cancellation of shows in Townsville, Wayville and Bunbury. The 2022 line-up included Hilltop Hoods, Wolf Alice, Broods and Middle Kids. The festival, which began in 2005, has moved its Queensland gig from Townsville to the Sunshine Coast. Doctors, chemists and counsellors tested the contents of pills taken into the venue by concert-goers. Potential drug-users are then given a clear indication of what is in their drugs.
