A private concert by Sam Smith was ruined when a 'disgusting' influencer flown to the gig at taxpayers' expense went to the toilet in front of horrified fellow concert-goers.

The South Australian government paid for the flights, accommodation and drinks for 205 guests to attend the non-binary English pop star's show at a McLaren Vale winery venue on January 11.

Among the sponsored guests for the exclusive event were 90 social media influencers and media personalities, including former The Project star Carrie Bickmore.

One young woman who attended witnessed a female influencer, who was part of a group behaving 'rudely' all night, urinate directly in front of the stage.

'One of them literally peed in the mosh. I'm not even joking,' said Kate in a TikTok video.

'A girl pushed past me, she's like "I'm so sorry, some girl is peeing".

'I look over and I literally see someone squatting on the floor peeing, in the mosh.

'One, it's disgusting, two, I can't even say anything 'cause I'm so lost for words.'

Kate said some of the influencers who attended deserved to be 'slapped' for their behaviour.

'Where I was standing in the mosh was right next to a group of social media influencers. I'm not going to name names 'cause I don't want to get sued.

'But some of [them] were being very disrespectful and very rude throughout some of the most emotional songs.

'A girl next to me was crying 'cause it was so emotional and [Smith's] voice is amazing and on my other side, I had these influencers who are screaming "let me get on your shoulders!".
