Nick Carter was supported by family and friends ahead of a benefit concert for his late younger brother Aaron Carter in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The Backstreet Boys star, 42 — who recently penned an emotional song for Aaron - was joined by his sister Angel Conrad, 35, who was Aaron's twin, and his band member pal AJ McLean, 45, as well as singer Ryan Cabrera, 40.

Carter's sister hosted the event, titled Songs for Tomorrow, along with NSYNC's Lance Bass, 43, with proceeds benefitting On Our Sleeves, the movement for children's mental health.

A description for the concert read: 'At an early age, Aaron started showing symptoms of mental illness. Unfortunately, as is common for many individuals experiencing mental health difficulties, Aaron did not receive the treatment that could have helped him, despite the tireless efforts of Angel and those who loved him.'

'His life is a cautionary tale and one that has inspired Angel to work with On Our Sleeves to raise awareness and help other families by giving them the opportunity to write a different story.'

The day before the event Nick took to his Instagram to share a snap of himself, AJ and Lance rehearsing.
