The full story behind Michael Clarke's alleged invitation to his ex Pip Edwards to join him on his upcoming work trip to India is starting to emerge.

Wild footage leaked on Wednesday of a heated exchange between Clarke and his girlfriend Jade Yarbrough in a public park in Noosa, with Yarbrough accusing the former cricketer, 41, of sleeping with Edwards behind her back on December 17.

Yarbrough, 30, also accused Clarke of texting Edwards, 42, to tell her she was the 'love of his life' before inviting her on his visit to India, which is scheduled for next month.

Little was known about Clarke's travel plans or upcoming commentary duties before his India trip was mentioned in the now-infamous video, which was recorded by a shocked onlooker on January 10.

If Yarbrough is correct and Clarke did ask Edwards, who is the co-founder of activewear brand P.E Nation, to accompany him to India, then it would seem he was looking for company on his business trip.

Clarke's six-figure commentary role could be in jeopardy after the footage was leaked, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) now reviewing his position.

Australia is scheduled to play India in a four-Test series starting on February 9 and Clarke was expected to fly out to be part of the BCCI's commentary panel that would be heard on Fox Sports.

He had been approached to commentate on the first two Tests against Australia, with a rumoured payday of $150,000 plus expenses.

But News Corp is reported that sources in India believe Clarke may be blocked by the image-conscious BCCI.

Clarke's trip to India was mentioned by Yarbrough in their explosive argument as she accused him of wanting Edwards to accompany him for the journey.

'You want to send her to India with you?' Yarbrough yells in the vision.

'Oh yeah, "You're the love of my life Pip, come to India,"' she says, to which Clark replies: 'Don't ever talk to me again.'

On Wednesday night, dramatic footage, obtained by the Daily Telegraph, showed a  shirtless Clarke being screamed at and slapped by his furious girlfriend Jade.

Others in the group, including Karl Stefanovic his partner Jasmine, who is also Jade's sister, and celebrity accountant Anthony Bell, try to defuse the fracas.

The melee was over Edwards, with Yarbrough accusing Clarke of cheating with her.

The video begins with her screaming at Clarke before she slaps him in the face and pushes him away after the cricketer insists he didn't cheated on her.
