Peter Stefanovic breaks his silence on Karl's friendship with Michael Clarke trends now

Peter Stefanovic has lifted the lid on his brother Karl's friendship with long-time mate Michael Clarke - days after footage of the Today host intervening in the cricketer's blazing row with girlfriend Jade Yarbrough went viral.

The Sky News Australia anchor, 41, told Nova's Fitzy & Wippa on Tuesday that Karl was doing well given the circumstances, and that his friendship with Clarke probably isn't over.

'I think he's going okay, yeah. Yeah, he's hanging in there,' Peter told hosts Ryan 'Fitzy' Fitzgerald, Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli and Sarah McGilvray.

'You never know how these things work out. You know, there's ebbs and flows,' he said when asked if the two men's friendship had been irreparably damaged. 

McGilvray joked about the stereotype that men 'move past' arguments easily, whereas for women 'that would be it'.

'He's alright though. He's just in pap [paparazzi] city at the moment,' Peter shrugged.

It comes amid reports Karl has been 'rocked' by the fallout from Clarke's late-night row, and is calling 'crisis talks' with friends and advisors.

'Since that fight video went public, Karl has been rocked to the core. He is terrified there could be more footage to come,' a source told New Idea. 

'[Karl] knows he cannot afford another crisis like this one,' the insider added. 'He has told the family that's enough, no more dramas!'

The Today show host has been leaning on his wife Jasmine in the wake of the drama, the magazine claims.

Extraordinary footage emerged last Wednesday of a heated exchange between Clarke and his girlfriend Jade Yarbrough while they were on holiday in Noosa. 

In the video, which was filmed by an onlooker on January 10 and later sold to The Daily Telegraph for a reported $10,000, Yarbrough accused Clarke of cheating on her with his ex, fashion designer Pip Edwards, on December 17.
