Brendan Fraser left fans starstruck on Friday night as he crashed a screening of his 1999 film The Mummy in London's Prince Charles Theatre.

The actor, 54, who is who is hotly-tipped for awards season success following his role in The Whale, arrived to the theatre dressed as his character for the special appearance.

And taking to the stage to chat with the audience, he shared: 'I am proud to stand before you tonight'.

The crowd went wild as cheers and claps surrounded the theatre for Brendan's arrival.

Donning a pair of tan chino trousers with a dark brown leather jacket and cream neck scarf, the actor chanelled his on-screen character Rick O'Connell with the appearance.

Taking to the stage, he told the crowd: 'Thank you, Friday night in Leicester Square. I first started seeing films right across the street, I saw Star Wars in 1977 and it changed my life, made me want to star in movies. 

'And this is a film that was made in Britain, you should know that. Shepperton I believe. We shot it in Morocco, and even the second one too, be proud. Thank you for being here.

'We had no idea what kind of movie we were making when we shot this. We didn't know if it was a drama, a comedy, a horror movie, straight action, all of the above. No idea, until it tested in front of British audiences, thank you for that. 

After touching on the storyline, he continued: I won't take any more of your time, enjoy your night and if you get a chance, check out The Whale on February 23rd.'

Ending with: 'Thank you, goodnight and keep your powder clean!', many fans have guessed that the actor could have meant to say 'Keep your powder dry'.
