Carey Mulligan covers baby bump in overalls as she joins husband Marcus Mumford ... trends now

Pregnant Carey Mulligan and her musician husband Marcus Mumford were spotted indulging in a California beach day this week.

Defying the wintertime chill, the English couple took in a bit of sea air and sunshine at Manhattan Beach while preparing for the arrival of their third child.

Carey, 37, concealed her figure in a flowing pair of navy overalls as she enjoyed a barefoot stroll across the sand.

Wearing her blonde hair in a stylish bob, she warded off the California rays with a pair of dark sunglasses and a fashionably faded baseball cap.

She lent the casual ensemble a dash of glitz by clasping on a gold necklace that dangled over her simple white t-shirt.

Meanwhile her husband, who shot to fame as the namesake of the band Mumford & Sons, bared his chest and is sprawl of arm tattoos.

He was dressed in a clinging black wetsuit but tore off the top half of it and let it dangle as he walked on the beach with his wife and their dogs. 

Marcus accented his with a pair of burnt-orange sunglasses and at one point threw a white t-shirt on over his wetsuit.

At one point he and his wife took a break from their exercise and sat down together on a surfboard, where they were glimpsed sharing a laugh.

Over the course of the beach day, Marcus pulled on his wetsuit entirely and hauled his surfboard into the water to catch a couple of waves.
