The cast of BBC Two's fan favourite comedy Inside No.9 has been revealed with a star-studded line-up for the new series airing this spring.

Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith have announced that five stand-alone episodes of their BAFTA Award-winning series will be launching up for the final time after a second revival in 2017, following its axe in 2002.

And now the stellar talent included in its final series has been unveiled - and it includes Sherlock star Amanda Abbington, EastEnders actress Anita Dobson and House of The Dragon's Phil Daniels.

British comedian Asim Chaudhry, who is best known for his role as Chabuddy G in BBC Three's People Just Do Nothing, is also in the cast list.

Claire Rushbrook from My Mad Fat Diary, Star of Gavin and Stacey as well as Bad Education Mathew Horne are also on the line-up.

Frances Barber from Camille and Uncle Vanya, Leon Herbert of Salome's Last Dance and Batman, Menyee Lai from Stay Close and The Tower are joining the team across the five episodes.

Also on the fantastic cast is Guilt's Moyo Akandé, Robin Askwith from Bless This House, Samantha Spiro from Sex Education and Game of Thrones, Ayda Kiiza and Sheila Reid from Benidorm.

Reveal: Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith have announced that five stand-alone episodes of their BAFTA Award-winning series will be launching up for the final time after a second revival in 2017, following its axe in 2002

The show's Christmas special episode, The Bones of St Nicholas, saw a seven-day audience of 2.3million which made it Inside No. 9's biggest ever audience on record. 

Of the new series, Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton say: 'We are thrilled to invite viewers inside a new set of funny and frightening number 9s; take your shoes off, make yourself at home and switch your devices to Do Not Disturb. Well it might work...'

Josh Cole, Head of Comedy, BBC Studios, says: 'We're thrilled to be making a new series of Inside No. 9 with the unassailable Reece and Steve, and look forward to delighting and upsetting viewers in equal measure.'
